The exhibition which was related to the original textile design for a Japanese fashion brand »Jens«. The textile and the exhibition quoted the Portuguese poet, Fernando Pessoa’s poem »Autopsicografia«.
»Photo Echo« was the conversation through photographs in between 4 locations of the world like a sound echo. The Simple Society visited Colönia in Porto, Portugal and took the first picture there. Started from this picture, we started the conversation through photographs in between Berlin, Taiwan, Tokyo and Porto.
Finally, The Simple Society arrived in Tokyo and exhibited these pictures at the gallery called »PORT«.
At the exhibition, the poetry reading of Fernando Pessoa’s »Autopsicografia« by the curator Rita Roque was repetitively played.

フェルナンド・ペソア詩篇
「自己心理記述」澤田直訳
ポルトガルを代表する詩人、フェルナンド・ペソアの詩の一節を引用した、Colönia（ポルト、ポルトガル）とシンプル組合（ベルリン、ドイツ）による、JENSのためのオリジナル・テキスタイルの制作と、連動する写真展。
エコーのように世界の4点をつなぐ、写真による共鳴プロジェクト「PHOTO ECHO」。シンプル組合が、ポルトのColöniaを訪ねた際に撮影された1枚の写真から始まり、ポルトーベルリンー台湾ー東京の4拠点を移動しながら、シンプル組合とColöniaとの対話が写真を通じて繰り返された。それらの写真は、最終的に東京のポルトと名付けられたギャラリーにて展示された。
展示会場では、キュレーターの Rita Roque によるペソアの詩篇「自己心理記述」の朗読音声が繰り返し再生された。

The imagetic correspondence – deliberately built – has been a constant feature in this long-term relationship between the members of The Simple Society, a collective composed by Miki Kadokura and Tilmann Steffen, from Berlin, and Colönia Design Studio, of Joana Machado, from Porto.
Miki Kakodura has named this exhibition Photo Eco, a brief summary of testimonials and experiences lived in an emotional geography between Porto, Berlin, Tainan and Hida.
This relationship is depicted in a chain of photographic images, offering eleven photographs for this first presentation. All were taken during 2016 and in all of them, every mutation and world meaning remains open. They problematize daily life in a rich inventory of signs, questions, social metaphors, or offer livelihood plans that sometimes appear to come out from a different reality.
As in a correspondence game, the images echo and invade the imagination of the next element, which will provide answers to the previous image. Naturally, the place of affection and the answer of the person who answers are still a hidden reality, thus denying an immediately identifiable plot and, contrarily, taking and transforming the punctum (Roland Barthes – La Chambre Claire).
In this way, none of the photographs encloses itself in an imposed narrative. It is the viewers who must let themselves be taken by indefinite, intemporal zones and spaces.
The absence of titles welcomes all possibilities. One thing might connect them: all understand the frail precarity of reality and question the simplicity of the small, unknown gestures, as well as the invisibility of daily life.
Presented at Fort by Port among other creations from both studios, these images echoe in a suspended timeframe, capturing what one hardly can see with a mere first glimpse.

慎重に組み立てられたイメージの呼応。これはベルリンのシンプル組合（ティルマン・S・ヴェンデルシュタイン、門倉未来）と、ポルトのColönia（Joana Machado）との間の、長い時間をかけた関係性である。門倉により名付けられたプロジェクトPHOTO ECHO。それは簡潔に綴られた、ポルトと、ベルリン、台南、飛騨の間の情緒的な地理に横たわる時間とその証言である。
PHOTO ECHO初の展示においてこの呼応関係は、11枚の精密なイメージの連鎖の中に描かれた。写真はすべて2016年の間に撮影され、いかなる意味づけや転換への可能性も許されている。これらの写真は、日常を記号や疑問、社会的暗喩の膨大な目録へと転換する。あるいは、異なった現実の中から表出する暮らしのあり方を提示する。
この呼応ゲームにおいて、イメージはエコーする。そして次に連なる、前のイメージへ答えるがためのイメージの創造性を侵食する。必然的に、影響の範囲と返答者の答えはなおも隠された現実の中にある。したがって、その答えは自己同一性が認められる筋書きの速やかな否定であり、反対に、ある点の変容でもある。（ロラン・バルト「La Chambre Claire」）この点において、いかなる写真家も与えられた叙述に彼自身を晒すことはない。鑑賞者が、不確定で持続的な空間や領域へと彼ら自身を解放するのである。
表題の不在はすべての可能性を受け入れる。一つ、これらに関連付けられることがある。すべての人が、薄弱で不安定な日常生活における現実と、些細な示唆や、日常における目に見えない物事のシンプルさを理解するであろう。シンプル組合とColöniaのFORT by PORT における展示や、その他の創作活動は、停止された時間枠の中でエコーし、我々が普段見落としがちな事象を捉えている。
