The Simple Taiwan is a design project which explores traditional production techniques in Taiwan and aims to utilize them for contemporary products. The Simple Taiwan was established by DESIGN ISSUE (Taiwan) and The Simple Society (Berlin/Tokyo).
The visual identity of The Simple Taiwan was designed by The Simple Society. The logo mark was inspired by the plum blossom which is the national flower of Taiwan.

This authentic stripe bag is called Gagia bag (茄芷袋) which came from Houbi district (後壁區) in Southern Taiwan countryside where is known for agriculture. This bag was originally made from Cyperus-malaccensis and used by farmers. For this collection, we chose this authentic stripe fabric and european leather as a corporation in between The Simple Society (Berlin/Tokyo) and STAUB SHOP(Berlin). All products ware hand made in Berlin.
